- Review
action items from last time:
- Matt
reviewed science/logistic plan. Matt plans to be based at AS and Fushan
and make weekly trips to YYL. He
will make detailed vertical, high-frequency measurements of dissolved
oxygen to test one of the hypotheses to account for observed oxygen
increases at night. He will also
take samples for other relevant physical, chemical, and biological variables. The details of what equipment Matt
needs to bring and what will be available at AS or TFRI remain to be
worked out with Charles, Alan and Hen-Biau/Chin. Matt and Tim will send list of
needs/options soon. We hope to
discuss this in more detail at the vtc next week.

was hoping for a typhoon around 1 – 5 August; Grace will arrange for this J

on Lake Metabolism at PRAGMA meeting; report was well-received
- Possibility
of engaging Seishi Ninomiya-san, new PRAGMA partner, in sharing
meteorological data, specifically about Agriculture
- Ninomiya
will be visiting Taiwan soon. Fang-Pang will talk with him.
- Undergrad
student: The students name is Brandon Smith. He will be working on the
Ecogrid project with Fang-Pang. Fang-Pang will talk with Brandon later
this week.
- Plans
for September meeting with Hans-Werner Braun.
- Because
of other major meetings, date for such a meeting in San Diego around
PRAGMA 7 would need to be either Sunday or Monday, 19 or 20 September.

discussed visit in Korea with Dr. Bomchul Kim, who has been studying Lake
Soyang (http://www.lake.sy.to). Dr.
Kim will be visiting Madison 10 – 12 June and will have the chance to
meet Paul Hanson and Barbara Benson.
